Pastor's Pen 336

One of the major questions in the world is “What is the meaning of life and can life be effectively lived without meaning?”  Many of the wises individuals from mankind has propose that life cannot have meaning without a purpose.  The following poem from a unknown author suggests an answer to both questions:

Life without purpose is barren indeed.  There cannot be a harvest unless you plant seed.

There cannot be attainment unless there is a goal.  And man is but a robot unless there a soul.

If we send no ships out, no ships will come in.  And unless there is a contest, nobody can

win.  For games can not be won unless they are played.  And prayers cannot be answered

unless they are prayed.

So whatever is wrong with your life today, you will find a solution if you kneel down and

pray.  Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health.  Not just for honors and prestige and wealth.

But pray for the purpose to make life worth living.  And pray for the joy of unselfish

giving.  For great is your gladness and rich your reward, when you make your life

purpose the choice of the Lord.

As prayer is to purpose, God is to life
